Project Brief
As part of Slice’s high-speed campaign “Slice It”, we were brought in to design a series of original character heads each inspired by animals and packed with personality. The goal was to create visual identities that instantly communicated speed... or the lack of it.
Concept
Each head was built around an animal archetype from the swift confidence of a cheetah to the sluggish charm of a hippo or snail. Every character had a defined look, mood, and motion potential. These weren't just cute faces they had a role to play in a story of speed vs. slow.
Illustration & Development
The heads were illustrated in full rotational views front, back, side to give 3D artists complete freedom in modeling. Each design maintained a balance between stylization and personality, making them animation-ready while still feeling handcrafted.
Outcome
These illustrated characters became the base for animated 3D avatars featured in Slice’s TVCs. Whether zipping across the screen or trailing behind, each one played a part in visualizing the core campaign message: “Slice It” because others are just too slow.

These heads were then converted into 3D models and then 3D printed. These heads
were worn by the actors in the TVC.
